Become a PADI Rescue Diver and expand your knowledge and experience as you learn to look beyond yourself, and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Your PADI Rescue Diver training prepares you to help prevent problems, and manage dive emergencies by incorporating a variety of techniques over a 2-3 day period. You will also receive your Emergency O2 certification at the end of the rescue course.
Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:
Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
Emergency management and equipment
Rescuing panicked divers
Rescuing unresponsive divers
You will also need to have obtained Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You will need to either present your card at the time of registration or before completing the Rescue Diver course. You can also complete the Emergency First Responder course during the Rescue Diver course, just let your dive instructor know you need to complete the course as well.
